Code 95 is a document necessary for truck drivers who want to work professionally in Europe. It is also required for drivers from Ukraine and other countries that are not part of the EU.

Costs
In a world in which transport plays a significant role in economic activities and the movement of people and goods professional driving skills are increasingly becoming an indispensable asset. However, getting this ability isn't cheap. You have to consider a variety of costs, including the cost of training as well as the test. In the Netherlands the cost for obtaining Code 95 can be as high as 3000 euros. The cost of getting this certificate in Poland can be as low at 1500-2000 PLN.
In Europe, truck drivers need the Code 95 Certificate to drive trucks that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The certificate is valid for 5 years and must be added to the driver's license category C or C+E. It can also be added to a C1 or C1E license which permits the driver to drive trailers with lighter weights.
To receive a Code 95 certificate, you must undergo a medical exam and pass an exam called a psychotest. After completing the course you will be issued the plastic Code 95 Certificate that can be inserted in your driving license. The course price includes a medical examination, PKZ service and payment for the plastic Code 95 Certificate.
The cost of a Code 95 certificate is similar to the cost of other types of driving courses. It is important to keep in mind that the course must be offered at a CBR-approved school for driving. The CBR has strict guidelines that trainers must adhere to. Trainers must immediately notify the CBR if, for example, a student is absent.
After the course, the participant must visit the Road Traffic Safety Directorate to apply for a new license. The deadline for renewing the licence is six months from the date of the completion of the course. This requirement is intended to ensure that the driver is at the necessary level of expertise and knowledge required to operate a vehicle that is heavy. The driver must also be aware of how to read speed limit and kilometer signs on the road.
Options for training
Code 95 is a proof on a driving licence that you have met the requirements for training to drive trucks and buses professionally. It is a requirement that you must meet every five years to renew your license. The periodical training requires 35 hours of instruction and can be completed at a driving school or at home (e-learning). It is possible to spread the course over the five-year period. The course is usually paid for by your employer.

Code 95 training is divided into two types: the long and short courses. The long course is approximately four weeks long and ends with a test administered by the government. After passing the test you will be issued the card in the form of a plastic. The card must be presented to the unified European certificate database. The school where you took your classes will submit it to the database. It takes 14 days to process the card.
The cost of the lengthy course is around 2500 PLN, while the examination costs 300 PLN. You will also have to pay a fee to the school to submit your certificate to the unifying European database. Once the card is ready you can take it at the school.
As trainers you must adhere to a set of protocols in order to be able give a class that meets Code 95. You must first submit a plan of training to the CBR. This training plan must be approved prior to the start of classes. You will also need to adhere to other strict rules during the training.
You will receive a certificate from the CBR once you have completed the course successfully. You can then send this to the RDW. If the application is successful you'll be able to renew your license with the municipality. If you don't renew your license by the expiry date, you will not be able to drive professionally for more than 12 hours per week. If you intend to drive for more than 12 hours a week, you will need to take a new training course.
Exams
You must pass both the theory and practical tests to get the code 95 on your license. These tests can be taken separately, or as part of the acquisition of a basic category license at a driving academy. If you pass the tests, you will be given a certificate and code 95 card. The card is valid for 5 years and has to be renewed prior to expiration date.

To operate a truck, you must have an official driver's license C. This is the largest driver's licence in Europe. In the Netherlands, the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You must also undergo a medical exam.
You also must have a driving licence C or D for buses and passenger cars. Bus drivers must pass the oral and written tests. They must also have a code85, which is a professional certificate.
Requirements
This is a requirement for truckers who want to work in the Netherlands. The code on a driving licence proves that the driver has completed the training requirements for professional truckers (Certificates of Professional Competence - Verklaring van Vakbekwaamheid). Truck drivers are not permitted to be professional drivers for more than 12 hours per week without this.
You need to complete professional training to obtain an driving license that has the code 95. These classes are usually offered by driving schools. They also organise the required tests. The program for code 95 is a combination of practical and theoretical training. The theoretical training consists of classroom instruction and online learning. The online learning part is done through a dedicated website. This allows you to participate in classes at any time and from any location. The theoretical portion comprises 35 academic lessons. In addition, you will be able to take a number of online checking tasks and tests.
If you are planning to transport dangerous goods, you will have to enroll in an ADR basic training course (18 hours). This will award you the five-year ADR driver's certificate. This is required for all professional drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods.
In 2011, a new style of licence for trucks and buses was introduced. It is a laminated driving licence card that looks similar to the European driving license card. It contains the driver's picture and name (in Latin or Cyrillic), the date and place of issue, the categories that are allowed and the signature. Older credit-card and booklet-style licences are no longer issued.
